GOD VS GOD PARTICAL

Scientist at the CERN’s Large Hadron Collider in Europe have recently verified the finding of a sub-atomic particle that’s been called the “God Particle”.  This particle, the Higgs Boson, is a small part of the positive charge proton of an atoms’ nucleus and give scientists their closest thing yet to explain their hypothesis of the beginning of the universe with the “big bang”. Modern scientific thought is that the universe as we know it started from a bang of a near infinitely small physical source and expanded at multiple times the speed of light. It is continuing to expand even now about 14 billion years later but at a slower speed according to their theories. To the scientist the Higgs Boson gives a reason for objects (baseballs, airplanes, hamburger or planets) to have mass (a resistance to change) that has eluded scientific verification before. Theoretical physics has many theories about the observable universe we see around us. These theories lead to many unexplainable things that lead to other theories. I don’t understand most theoretical physics with it’s black holes, black mass, black energy, string theories, supersymetry, anti-matter, etc on the origin and make up of the universe. But I have a thought on the whole process of the determining the origin.  It has to do with the old discussion of evolution and creation. Here’s a whole new way to think of what existence is all about and a basis for scientist to start a whole new way of thinking.

A FRESH LOOK AT CREATION
First there must be an assumption on the scientists part that there is a God and He has given us the scriptures, the word of God.  A big step for many these days.  Next, let’s define God by His word. Foremost, God is a Spirit (Jn 4:24). God is love (1 Jn 4:8). God is unchanging (Mal 3:6, Jm 1:17). The fact is that in the scriptures God has given us many attributes that define Him. The nature of God is outlined in 2 Peter 1:4-7: Faith, virtue knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness and charity. Other places (Isa 1:2 and Rev 3:1) show some of the makeup of God’s Spirit: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and fear of the Lord. The Apostle Paul gives us a way of seeing the fruit of God’s Spirit in these: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance. (Gal 5:2,23). These then, are things that were with God in creation.(Prov 8:20-30)

God says in the Bible that He created the heavens and the earth (Gen1:1). Since God is a Spirit and not a man (Num 23:19), He must then have created this material universe in a spiritual manner, THE SPIRIT MAKING THE PHYSICAL. There is great power in the spiritual realm. Look at Peter, who was just a man but with the Spirit of God. People laid the sick in the streets so Peter’s shadow would pass over them and be healed.(Acts 5:15) You can’t do that with dark matter or the Higgs boson. Paul, Elijah, Elisha, and of course Jesus raised the dead. You can’t do that with supersymetry or dark holes. In this spiritual realm sight is give to the blind and hearing to the deaf, men walking on water and many such unexplainable things. It is the spiritual things that have power over the natural, or physical, things in this universe. God didn’t use computers and cyclotrons to create. He used things of the spirit. Look at these parts of His word to us:

Proverbs 3:19. “The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.”
Jeremiah 51:15. “He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding.”

Just a small part of the scriptures that show the invisible creating the visible. This is foreign to the thinking of the natural mind, but look what God says about this type of thought.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” (Isa 5: 8,9)

God’s words have great power. When God said, “Let there be light” the scripture says, ” and here was light”, (Gen 1:3). In the rest of the creation story each day God said, Let there be….”, and it was so. This is creative power in the words of God. In the book of Hebrews, chapter 1, verse 3, the word of God tells us that, “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so the things which are seen are not made of the things that do appear.” Things physical, that can be seen with our eyes, created from the Spirit of God, that cannot be seen.

The scriptures says, “God is light” (1 Jn 1:5). The creative “energy”, the power, the ability, the source of creation is a God of light. God enlightens, for He is light. The name of God, Jehovah or Yahweh, means “the self-existent one who reveals himself”. He will enlighten anyone who diligently seeks him (Heb 1:6). But many have lifted themselves up in pride and in their own arrogance have convinced themselves that they have no need of God or His scripture. Jesus confronted by such told the Sadducees, “Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.”(Mt 22:29) The light of God stands against the evilness and unbelief of this world. Jesus tells us that men would rather believe in the dark evil things of this world than the light and reality of God, and this brings condemnation. “And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world , and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil” (Jn 3:19)
Men professing themselves to be wise have become fools (Rom 1:2). “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God…” (Ps 53:1). Or as Stephen Hawking (famed theoretical physicist, cosmologist and author who brought us black holes and event horizons, etc) said, “There may be a God, we just don’t need Him.”

So we see that through these scriptures, and there are many others, the creation was by the Spirit of God, not through material things that somehow pre-existed before anything existed?? Knowing this closes a multitude of prideful thinking and opens a multitude of new thoughts, not to mention faith in God. Until we can see our Creator as a spiritual being we’ll never understand the creation. And as Paul admonished Timothy, “… avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:” (1 Tim 6:20)
